aBoUt ME...
Edelweiza is just a simple lass who loves reading, writing, eating and having fun. I'm fond of collecting memories, keeping real friends and meeting new people. I look at life as a journey that is full of adventures, blessings, ordeals, emotional ups and downs, challenges, successes and failures along the way. I'm content with what I have and who I am because this is how God wants me to be. But I continue to persevere to achieve my goals. I believe that God sets the purpose of my existence, which makes me optimistic and potent amid difficulties.

As a Libran, I have an eye for beauty. But from the wide array of things that I usually like to set my wandering eyes on, I love to observe and be one with nature the most. Just as the clusters of edelweiss that grow in the Alps never get tired of facing the sky and spreading their enchanting, wooly petals for lucky onlookers to see and enjoy, the edelweiss in me never ceases to appreciate the beauty of nature as if my destiny is intertwined with it.

My Thoughts This Christmas Season
Christmas is fast approaching. That time where everyone seems generous and wants to give love, hugs and gifts. I can't imagine this season without people doing good things. It seems that it is only during this time that people become kind and generous, alive and happy.
I love the fact that Christmas brings warmth and joy in our hearts. It is at this time where we seem to appreciate the things we have, the things we want to have and the people with whom we want to share our blessings.
Christmas is a time to appreciate the things around us and to feel appreciated by the people we love. It is also a time for us to remember once again the birth of Jesus Christ, the very reason why we are breathing life on this earth.
Just the thought that Christmas is coming makes me feel elated. I am always thrilled with the thought that we are again celebrating the birth of God's son and that along with the celebration, we are to offer thanksgiving for the blessings showered upon us through the years.
Advance Merry Christmas to all! :)

Gosh, I think I'm starting to lose weight. From a shameful 126 lbs., I'm now 122 and getting lighter than ever. This is a result of a lot of hard work and discipline. I am so happy. And thankful.
If you wanna know what I'm doing why I'm losing weight, I guess there's nothing much to know. I just lower my rice intake. That's it. I also try to get more exercise and sleep. It's very effective, I tell you. But as in all success stories, you really have to put your heart and mind in it. Otherwise, any diet plan or eating strategy won't work. Or so my experience suggests.
Have a great day, everyone! :)

Bad things happen...for a reason. But I'm still thankful that God helped me find the solution to my problem. With the help of family and few close friends, I was able to solve it. Now I'm free. And happy.
I just don't know what it is with other people who can stand seeing someone so miserable. Who can do bad things to that someone who's doing nothing against them and is just doing an assigned task.
But it's over now. Thank God. Life goes on... :)

I just got back from Cebu City. It was my fourth time there. I enjoyed my short stay in the Queen City of the South. I hope to go there again. Next year, perhaps? Cebu is a wonderful city. The people are nice and the food is cheap. There are posh hotels, fab shops and cool dining places all over the city. There are churches, temples and overlooking sites that will surely leave you awed. Traffic is not a problem in Cebu. It must be due to the small population which translates to less number of vehicles or the good traffic management in the city. Life is good. I didn't regret going to Cebu last weekend. It was fun and memorable. Thank God for giving me the opportunity to go there with Edwin.
You can read about my detailed Cebu trip HERE.

Fashionable and Stylish Lunch Bags
We get free lunches in the office daily. I guess that's one of the little perks we get to enjoy in exchange for the pressure we experience whenever we have big events to take care of. For normal employees though, it's either you bring your own "baon" or buy canteen food.
Most women are very particular when it comes to their personal appearance and even belongings. They always wanna look nice and fashionable all the time. It follows then that whatever they carry with them must blend well with their style. If before, they put their lunches in brown bags, now they put them in stylish lunch bags. Who wouldn't love them if they look as lovely as these ones:
There are more stylish lunch bags over at iVillage.com. The Life of a Breadwinner is up on something.

Watched Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion's movie last week with my boyfriend and loved it. They looked good together and acted so natural. My initial impression was that it wasn't a nice movie but I was wrong. HERE's my review of the movie if you want to know more juicy details.
Anyway, seeing the movie that was mostly shot in Greece was a great cinematic experience. It felt like I was traveling with them vicariously. I love Santorini Island, the specific place where they went. The movie made me daydream of a vacation. Yes, a dream vacation, in one of those beautiful islands in Greece.
Photo taken from: http://www.hickerphoto.comIf only vacations were not expensive, I would have taken a lot. As in A LOT. And have the time of my life. In places where fun is a normal thing. Where everything is beautiful and efficient and orderly. Where I can relax and eat and have fun all day and all night. But vacations aren't just that. It involves a lot of money. Of which I am lacking. Or let's just put it this way, I have money but it's just enough for myself and my family to live a normal life. How about you, where is your dream vacation? The Life of a Breadwinner has a new post.

I have always been afraid of seeing a doctor. I don't know with myself but I always have this fear of seeing them talk about my health. But then, as we age, we tend to need them more and more. It is primarily because as we age, we get weaker and weaker physically. We also get different sickness which only doctors can treat.
As a woman, I care so much about my reproductive health. When I marry and raise a family of my own, I will need to bear children and I cannot do it if my reproductive health is in chaos. Meaning, I need to ensure that I am healthy, reproduction wise. Lol.
Seriously, I think it is about time that I drop the fear I carry when it comes to doctors. I think I should get a Papsmear to know if I'm healthy or not, if there's abnormality in my reproductive system or whatever there is that should be a source of concern. God help me. I hope I am healthy as I thought I am. I plan to do it as soon as possible. Just like a friend of mine who bravely did the thing I am scared to do. I need to be inspired by her. I need to talk to her about this. It's now or never, I suppose.

Everyone's busy in the office. Originally, there were four events. One has just finished this afternoon which means there are three more to go. Arrgh, it's very tiring. But who am I to complain? After all, this is my job. And I enjoy it a lot especially when we don't have events to prepare for, which is frequently.
The good thing about having events to work on in the office is that things get a little challenging. Instead of work-play-work routine, I get to have a work-work-work schedule. My mind gets to function and my body gets to experience hyperactivity. For a limited period, I get active which is way different to just being passive. I love my job! :)
